We offer Learn to Skate USA classes for all levels and all ages (Age 2 through Adult). Our classes provide fundamental grass root skills while creating a fun atmosphere. Whether you hope to play hockey, advance as a figure skater, or just skate for fun, this is the place to start!

Snowplow Sam
Ages 2-6 | Helmet Required
Snowplow Sam introduces children to the ice in a fun, supportive environment. Through games and playful instruction, skaters gain skills while building confidence in themselves and their ability. Skaters will develop preliminary coordination and strength to move around on the ice. The introductory classes are divided into four progressive levels for kids with no prior skating experience. Bike helmets are acceptable.

Basic Skills
Ages 7 & up | Helmet encouraged
The Basic Skills cirriculum is available for skaters over the age of 6 who are taking their first steps on the ice. Helmet strongly encouraged for Basic 1. Instructors use engaging activities to teach the FUNdamentals of ice skating. The six progressive levels introduce elements such as forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers and turns with agility, balance, coordination and speed as main focuses.
Skaters will graduate to the Pre-Freeskate level upon the completion of Basic Skills Level 6.
Hockey
*Ages 6 & up | Helmet encouraged
*Skaters younger than 6 may enter hockey class with prior approval. All skaters must have passed either Snowplow Sam 2 or Basic 1.
Designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating, the four badge levels, plus power skating, will teach skaters how to be more proficient and agile on the ice. Skaters will learn importance of developing skills such as stance, stride, stopping, turning, and edges while focusing on agility, balance, efficiency, and speed.

Class Instruction: 25 Min | *Practice Ice: 25 Min
Our Learn to Skate class consist of 25 minutes of instruction with a certified Learn to Skate USA® coach, along with 25 minutes of supervised practice ice that features fun and games.
*SnowPlow Sam Classes: Snowplow classes do not include 25 minutes of practice ice. However, practice ice can be purchased separately during registration. Practice ice will take place immediately following the Snowplow Sam class. This reduced time is reflected in the Snowplow Sam pricing.
Sessions run approximately 5-8 weeks in length.
Skaters will learn proper technique while following the guidance of their instructor. They progress through levels at their own pace upon mastering the skills in each level.
There’s no need to wait for a new session to advance - skaters are evaluated regularly and placed in classed based on age and ability.
Class sizes are limited and filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. If your preferred class is full, skaters will be added to a waitlist or contacted about other available options.

Helmets are required for skaters ages 6 and under. Helmets are also strongly encouraged for Basic 1 and other beginner skaters. Bike helmet acceptable.
Skates should fit well - please avoid growing room. Skates should provide ankle support and have a single blade.
Rental skates are available for purchase.
Warm layers, gloves or mittens, and long pants are strongly recommended. Skaters should dress comfortably for cold rink temperatures while maintaining full mobility. It’s best to wear thin socks in the skates.

Learn to Skate USA® classes at the 140 Ice Den are where the magic begins - teaching kids and adults to discover the joy of skating. Learn to Skate USA® classes offer structured, supportive curriculum that welcomes all ages and abilities.
Adult
Ages 18 & up
The adult curriculum is designed for both beginning and experienced adult skaters who wish to improve their skating skills. Participation in the program will help promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination while teaching proper skating techniques. Adults will progress through levels 1-6 where they can then advance through other pipelines within the skating industry.

Membership
1 – Login to Entry Eeze as an EXISTING MEMBER.
2 – Select “Apply / Renew” along the top bar.
3 – Choose “Learn to Skate” as Membership type.
STEP 3
Register for Class
1 - Along the top ribbon, select Contract Ice then Browse & Purchase.
2 – Select Continue next to the Learn to Skate Session.
3 – Select your class and add to shopping cart.
4 – Click on shopping cart to checkout!
